About Margaret Lewis
I have had a life-long interest in learning and public service. Currently, I am researching and engaging in the conversation about the role prayer and spirituality play in our health. Through this blog, I am sharing articles, ideas, and studies on the trends in this field.
I am also the media and government relations representative for Christian Science in Wisconsin. I enjoy opportunities to talk with journalists, editors, legislators, producers and the public at large about the spiritual capacity to improve and restore our personal health and well-being as well as the health of our communities and governmental bodies.
My previous careers include non-profit management, Governor’s office policy analyst, elected three terms to the State Legislature, commentator on Wisconsin Public Television, and government and media relations for institutions of higher education. I am married with three children, a welsh corgi and cat, Oreo Orca. A Wisconsin “lifer” I love all things Wisconsin from art and architecture (we once lived in and restored a Frank Lloyd Wright home) to nature. Growing up a block from Lake Michigan in a home my father and grandfather built, I especially cherish Wisconsin’s water resources from the Great Lakes to the Mississippi to our current Pheasant Branch Creek conservancy and camping, trout fishing, kayaking, skiing, hiking and biking in our state parks.
